Srinagar- As many 140 more people tested positive for Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday while no fresh fatality was reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, 115 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus were detected in Kashmir Valley and the remaining 25 from Jammu division, thus taking the total number of people infected since the onset of pandemic in J&K to 477784.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar registered the highest 36 new cases of virus, Anantnag 19, Baramulla 18, Budgam 14, Pulwama 10, Ganderbal 7, Kupwara 5, Bandipora and Kulgam 3 each. Shopian was the only district in the Valley where no new cases were reported.
In the winter capital, they said, Jammu reported a maximum of 21 new cases of infection, Udhampur 3 and Doda 1. No new cases were registered in the remaining seven districts of Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi.
Also, the officials said that the death toll in the pandemic remained unchanged at 4782, as no new death was reported in the UT during the last 24 hours.
“Moreover, 240 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 47 from Jammu division and 193 from Kashmir division,” they added.
