Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a sharp decline in Coronavirus cases on Monday as 57 more people tested positive for virus while no fresh fatality was reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, Kashmir Valley reported 46 new cases of Covid-19 while just 11 were detected from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the onset of pandemic in J&K to 477513.
In the Valley, they said, Baramulla registered the highest 16 new cases of virus, Srinagar 14, Budgam and Pulwama 5 each, and Kupwara, Bandipora and Kulgam 2 each. Three districts of Ganderbal, Shopian and Anantnag reported no new cases of virus.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu detected a maximum of nine new cases of infection and one each in Udhampur and Rajouri. No fresh cases of Covid-19 were registered from the remaining seven districts of Doda, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi.
Also, the death toll remained unchanged at 4782 in J&K, as no fresh fatality was reported during the last 24 hours.
“Moreover, 286 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 49 from Jammu division and 237 from Kashmir division,” the officials added.
