Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir registered 187 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus on Friday while one more person succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
148 new cases of Covid-19 were detected across Kashmir Valley while the remaining 39 from different parts of Jammu division, thus taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic in J&K to 477119, officials said Friday.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 48 new cases of virus, Budgam 34, Baramulla 19, Anantnag 13, Ganderbal 10, Pulwama and Kupwara 7 each, Kulgam 4, Bandipora and Shopian 3 each.
In the winter capital, they said, Jammu reported a maximum of 25 new cases of infection, Samba 10, Udhampur 3 and Doda 1. The remaining six districts of Rajouri, Kathua, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi detected no new cases of Covid-19 on Friday.
Also, the officials said that one more person died of Coronavirus related complications in Jammu division, taking the overall fatality count in the pandemic to 4782 in J&K.
“Moreover, 35 2 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 41 from Jammu division and 311 from Kashmir division,” they added.
