Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir reported on Friday 229 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus while two more people succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, Kashmir Valley registered 188 new cases of Covid-19 while 41 others were detected from various parts of the Jammu division on Thursday, thus taking the total number of people infected since the onset of pandemic in J&K to 476932.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar registered the highest 61 new cases of virus, Budgam 31, Baramulla 30, Anantnag 15, Kupwara 14, Kulgam 19, Pulwama 7, Ganderbal 5, Bandipora 4 and Shopian 2.
In the winter capital, they said, Jammu reported a maximum of 22 new cases of infection, Samba 7, Udhampur 4, Kathua and Ramban 3 each and one each in Doda and Poonch districts. The three districts of Reasi, Rajouri and Kishtwar reported no new cases of Covid-19.
Also, the officials said that two more people died of Coronavirus related complications in Jammu division during the last 24 hours. With two more deaths, the overall fatality count due to pandemic reached 4781 in J&K
“Moreover, 395 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 91 from Jammu division and 304 from Kashmir division” they added.
