Pampore- Six months after the death of noted Islamic Scholar Er Nazeer Ahmad Mir Pampori, his book Tareekh-e-Pampore was released at Shah-e-Hamdan Memorial Trust on Saturday.
Prof G N Khaki- Chairman Markaz-i Noor centre for Shaikhul Aalam Studies University of Kashmir, Prof Shad Ramzan, Dr Sartaj Ahmad Sofi- BGSBU Rajouri, Dr Ather Shahbaz-IUST Awantipora, Dr Tanveer Hayat, Moulana Showkat Hussain Keng, Mirwaiz-e Kashmir Moulana Reyaz Hamadani, Syed Hameedullah Haqani, Moulana Jalaluddin Bhat- Chairman SHMT and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Born in Pampore on 26 March 1962, Pampori who has authored scores of books on Islam and Islamic beliefs, died on 19 February this year after prolonged illness.
His book Tareekh-e Pampore was released before the galaxy of scholars and Ulema. The book covers the social, political and religious history of the Pampore and its adjacent villages.
His friends and disciples said that engineer Nazir’s book Jamea Tarikh-e-Pampore is an attempt to awaken the consciousness in the society by presenting facts beyond all prejudices and free from any influence. Sufis, scholars, intellectuals, poets and even majzoobs are mentioned in detail in this book.
They said the book also contains a detailed description of Pampore and its adjoining areas. Pampore’s ancient history, geography, climate, gardens, agriculture, business, caste and tribe and ancient monasteries, hermitages, forts and mosques of historical importance have also been mentioned in great detail. The historical background and background of different areas of Pampore are also described in this book.
