NEW DELHI: PDP patron after meeting Prime Minister in his 7 Race Course Road drove to nearby JK House in Chanakya Puri and held separate close door meetings with the BJP and PDP leaders at Room No 102.
Those who met him first were party president Mehbooba Mufti and senior leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig besides others.
BJPs National General Secretary Ram Madahv and MoS in PMO Dr Jintendra Singh later met Mufti and remained with him for some time.
Mufti was accompanied by Dr Haseeb Drabu. However, what transpired in the meeting wasnt known.
All the party top leaders later left for Jammu on the directions of Mufti who himself will fly from Delhi to Jammu tomorrow, they said.
Sources said that the framework for the coalition government called Agenda for Alliance was written by PDPs Haseeb Drabu and BJPs Ram Madhav in which both the parties managed to arrive on a consensus on various sensitive issues, transcending major ideological differences.
According to sources, the coalition government will have 12 cabinet ministers, which would be equally divided between the two parties. The two parties are also going to share the post of Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and Chairman of the Legislative Council as well.
This is for the first time that BJP would be part of coalition government in J&K. The PDP-BJP coalition was negotiated because of a fractured verdict during the recent assembly polls. While PDP was the largest party with 28 seats in the 87 member house, BJP won 25. NC won 15 while Congress managed to secure 12. Sajjad Lone led Peoples Conference won two seats.
