Srinagar- The Taxi owners at taxi stand no 2 protested against the Traffic department, after the Department allegedly closed the gates of the stand.
The protesters raised slogans against the traffic Department and urged the authorities to reopen the stand.
The passengers travelling to different parts of the Kashmir valley from the city said they faced a tough time travelling to their desired destinations.
Gurmeet Singh, a passenger, said he had to travel to the Tral area of South Kashmir but could not board a taxi as the stand was closed by the Traffic authorities.
“I came to the taxi stand to board a sumo to travel to Tral but could not, authorities have closed the gates of the stand” he said.
SSP Traffic Srinagar, Muzaffar Ahmad Shah said there are clear directions from Honorable High Court that vehicles bound for north and south Kashmir will not enter the city.
“We implemented the High Court directions from this year, the taxi drivers in violation of the Court directions enter the city and we will not allow that” he said.
