Srinagar): A seminar on Influenza and H1N1 under the aegis of Director General ISM and Homeopathy was organized at Government Unani Hospital Shaltaing on Tuesday.
Aspokesperson of the Hospital said, A large number of people participated including doctors from different faculties, paramedics and local people.
On this occasion Dr. Inayat Mir said that muscle pains, respiratory distress, diarrhoea, dehydration, altered sensorium and extreme irritability are red flags signs and those at risk are infants and children less than two years, pregnant, COPD, chronic heart, lung and kidney diseases, diabetes, immune suppressed and old people.
Stressed on protecting against swine flu as well as seasonal influenza, he said, Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Stay home when you are sick, you will help prevent others from getting sick. Cover your mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing. Wash your hands frequently with soap to prevent spread of germs and saline gargles in case of sore throat. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth to avoid spread of germs or infection. Practice other good health habits like plenty of sleep, being physically active and eating well.
He also shared information on recommended Homeopathic medicine by Central council for Research in Homeopathy (CCRH) as prophylactic Arsenicum Album 30 (one dose 4pills of size 30 by adults and 2pills by children daily for 3 days).
