Srinagar: Family members of north Kashmir youth who is missing since last 16 days in Haryana on Saturday staged a protest and appealed Governor NN Vohra to intervene and help them in finding out their son.
Relatives of Naseer Ahmad Najar, who hails from Badeharhar in Handwara area of Kupwara district, appeared in press enclave here and started sloganeering. The relatives of the missing youth were holding his pictures.
The relatives of the Naseer, a 2nd year pass-out and a Shawl seller by profession, said he is missing since February 06 and they are unaware of his whereabouts.
He went missing from district Kaithal of Haryana State on 6 February. He was there with his two other relatives. On that day, he had gone out for receiving cash from some customers and he returned at around 3 pm. He had then left again from the place where he lived and after that there was no information about his whereabouts. The last call was traced at Sonipat, the cousin of Naseer said.
He said it was for the first time that Naseer had gone out of Valley to sell Shawls.
We contacted Superintendent of Police (SP) Handwara, who is trying his best to trace our brother, he said, adding: the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Gani Mir, also assured help and said he will try to send his team to Haryana.
The relatives of the missing youth alleged that Haryana police is disinterested in tracing their son and accused it of not cooperating with Kashmir police.
Appealing Governor NN Vohra to intervene in the issue, the relatives of the yout said: We ask Governor to help us in finding out our son. (GNS)
