Srinagar: In order to bring in professionalism in its services and to serve guests better, J&K Tourist Development Corporation has started courses for its employees.
In the first phase 30 of the JKTDC employees will undergo the capacity building program at IHM Rajbagh.
The employees who cater at the properties of the JKTDC will be enhancing their skills during the 15 days course at IHM.
JKTDC has around 300 employees working at all its properties across the state.
JKTDC has properties in the form of wooden huts at prime tourist destinations across states having bed capacity of 2400.
We are the biggest organization having as many as 2400 rooms for the guests. Guests should stay comfortably at our room for which we are providing training to our employees. The guests will be provided best of the foods after they receive training, said MD JKTDC Farooq Shah.
Shah said the corporation is also not increased its tariff for this year to attract tourists.
He said online reservation of the huts will be made better on the patterns of Kerala and Rajasthan
Commissioner Sectretry Tourism was also present at the inaugural function of the program at IHM.
