SRINAGAR: Government forces on Monday evening cordoned off a locality in Achabal area of south Kashmirs Anantnag district, a senior police official said.
The official said that suspecting presence of militants in Magray Mohalla in Achabal, the cordon and search operation was launched.
He said so far no militant was found in the area but search operation was underway.
I cant deny or confirm the presence of militants at this moment, the official added.
However, a security source told GNS that the forces had inputs about the presence of two militants hiding in a residential house near Achabal Check post.
But as soon as army started searching the houses, the militants without opening fire gave slip to forces and fled from the area, he said, adding, the army and police are still searching for the two militants.
