SRINAGAR: Life returned to normal in Srinagar, other major towns and tehsil headquarters as authorities lifted the curfew like restrictions from Srinagar and there was also no strike call from any separatist organisation.
Valley had shut for three consecutive days in wake of death anniversaries of Muhammad Maqbool Bhat, Muhammad Afzal Guru and the death of Palhalan youth Farooq Ahmed Bhat.
Shops and business establishments reopened on Thursday and markets were abuzz with activities in all the district headquarters except Palhalan and Kupwara. Amid stray incidents of stone-pelting, all the shops and business establishments in the district remained shut.
Reports said that scores of shopkeepers opened their shops in Pattan town, however they were forced to close their shops after groups of youth pelted stones on them.Restrictions remained in force in certain parts of Palhalan town in North Kashmirs Baramulla district.
