Srinagar: Urging upon Governor N.N.Vohra institute a proper inquiry into the killing of Palhalan youth, State Congress president, Prof. Saifuddin Soz Tuesday condemned the killing and expressed his sympathies towards the bereaved family.
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senior leader and MLA Elect Amirakadal strongly condemned Palhalan firing incident in which a youth was killed and two others injured.
In a statement issued here, Bukhari said that such incidents are a brazen violation of democratic norms and have a tendency to prove counterproductive for peace and tranquility in the State. Incidents like Palhalan create an atmosphere of insecurity and fear among the people and those responsible for this reprehensible act must be identified and brought to book, he observed.
Bukhari urged the Honble Governor N N Vohra to order a time-bound probe into the incident so that those responsible for this heinous act are identified and brought to book. The guilty must be taken to task so that a message goes down the line that human rights violations will not be tolerated at any cost, Bukhari appealed the Honble Governor.
While expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, Bukhari said that no words can assuage the grief of the family whose son was killed in the incident. It is most unfortunate that instead of exercising maximum restraint, the security forces are said to have resorted to firing that led to this unfortunate killing.
