Srinagar: MLA Langate Er. Rashid has ridiculed the BJP National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singhs statement in which he has said that he had decided to cast his votes in favour of Gh. Nabi Azad and it was a bid to save the skin and give people of Kashmir an impression that he is a well-wisher of people of Kashmir.
In a statement Er. Rashid said that Dr. Nirmals remarks are self explanatory and eye opener for everybody and prove that Nirmal and his party have realized the mood and pulse of Kashmiris.
Dr. Nirmals Statement is analyzed properly it reveals that Kashmiries dont treat Afzal Guru as terrorist but as an innocent and martyr.
Er. Rashid said now when Shashi Thoroor has also taken a clue from Congress Legislators that hanging Afzal was a mistake, Nirmal Singh and so called nationalists feel embraced and by no way want to give a perception that Er. Rashid has made Congress to confess the mistake and surrender over Afzal Guru issue.
It is high time for the Prime Minister of the Country to confess that Afzals hanging was unjustified and must not only apologize but ensure that Mortal remains of Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat are given back to their families. It was the same Assembly where almost 86 MLA cutting across party lines and also those 11 hailing from BJP were calling me Pakistani agent and anti national for speaking truth over Afzal Guru issue and now it is for BJP and Congress to explain that why it took them two years to confess of being guilty. Congress Leaders stand is vindication of stand of people J&K and I have done nothing wrong by signing a deal with congress not for my personal benefits but to make them except the historic fact that Afzal was innocent.
