Srinagar- To manage the unparalleled rush of pilgrims arriving in Kashmir for Amanarth Yatra this year, authorities at the Srinagar International Airport have decided to add 10 additional flights from Jun 26th.
An official of the Srinagar Airport told Kashmir Observer that the additional 10 flights have been added in wake of the Amarnath yatra. “It’s an attempt to ensure a smooth flow of pilgrims and tourists arriving in Kashmir,” the official said. “We’re yet to decide anything on the future of these flights after yatra concludes”.
Pertinently, Srinagar airport director Kuldeep Singh Rishi has said that the additional flights will have more than 2000 additional seats available. “With the introduction of 10 more flights from Jun 26th, we will have more than 2000 additional seats available,” the Director had tweeted.
With addition of 10 more flights, the total number of flights scheduled to Srinagar will increase to almost 60.
