SRINAGAR: Continuing its drive against milk adulteration, a team of Food Safety Officers headed by Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety district Srinagar in the wee hours intercepted various milk suppliers who supply milk to Srinagar city at Chanapora, Bye Pass and lifted 12 samples of cow milk. The same were sent to food analyst for analysis. Besides, three quintals of adultrated/sub-standard milk was destroyed on spot.
The milk suppliers were directed to use only food grade containers for supplying milk to the city.
Meanwhile, the office of Designated Officers has received 10 test reports of milk samples which were lifted previously from Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar city. Out of these, 8 samples have been found sub-standard. Challan against the defaulters is being filed in the Court of Adjudicating Officer.
