Jammu: Assailing unholy and opportunistic alliance between PDP and BJP in the upcoming elections to Rajya Sabha, General Secretary National Conference Ali Mohammed Sagar on Friday alleged the PDPs hypocrisy stands exposed before the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
A party that had been boasting about freeing the state from Armed Forces Special Powers Act and return of the mortal remains of Afzal Guru to Kashmir has compromised on all the promises for lust of power, Sagar said in a statement to KNS.
He said the reports about the purported Common Minimum Programme arrived between the PDP and BJP does not contain these issues over which the PDP incited passions, generated hype and polarized the situation in the Kashmir Valley. Now the people of the Valley have come to know how PDP took them for granted and betrayed their trust, he said, adding that there is nothing new in the somersault of the PDP, the leadership of which is habitual of changing sides for vested interest.
The NC General Secretary said his party stands vindicated over PDPs U-turn, adding that for sharing the loaves of power they can go to any extent. He said history stands testimony how its leadership in different jargons bruised the identity of Jammu and Kashmir and trampled its single entity. He raised questions about the antecedents of the PDP leadership and said that over the decades they remained engaged overtly and covertly in diluting the essence of Article 370.
