Srinagar – Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly . Mohammad Akbar Lone today directed the Assembly Secretariat to initiate proceedings against the offenders including the abettor who committed contempt of the august House during Question Hour by jumping in the well from the visitors gallery and resorting to sloganeering with a Flag in hands.
Lone while terming the incident unfortunate said that such type of incidents are not good for the sanctity of the House and for democratic set up and anyone instigating such type of activities has no regard of the House. He said that as per an information, three persons had managed entry in the visitors gallery on the passes issued by the Honble member, . Jagdish Raj Sapolia and jumped in the House after violating all the norms. Three persons namely Ambedkar Gupta, Manish Khajuria and Sunny Mahajan were carrying flags of a newly formed political party namely J&K Democratic Front in their hands.
The Speaker said that some people have keen interest to see the proceedings of the House and normally on the recommendations of the legislators public gallery passes are issued by the Assembly Secretariat, but it is the responsibility of the legislators to recommend such persons which are responsible and law abiding and such type of incidents should not occur in the future.
The Speaker passed the direction to the Superintendent of Police Security Civil Secretariat, Srinagar to take the offenders in custody till 10th of October, 2012 and also left the action to be taken by the August House.
