Poonch: Police have arrested two persons after they slaughtered a buffalo in Kallar village of border district of Poonch district.
Sources told GNS that cops from Gursai police station arrested Muhammad Rafiq and Muhammad Shabir from Kallar while four more accused identified as Naseer Ahmad, Mahmood Ahmad Muhammad Yaqoob and Tariq are absconding.
Police also recovered 1.5 quintal meat, sources added.
The Station House Officer (SHO) Gursai, Narendra Chib, when contacted by GNS, denied any arrest and said: There was a minor rift and I have sorted out that.
But, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Mendhar, Surinder Chowdhary, confirmed to GNS that two people have been arrested. We have arrested them under section 298 and search for absconders is on, he said.
