PULWAMA- Jammu Kashmir Hogam Association hosted the first District Hogam Sports tournament in Rohmoo Pulwama on Thursday.
The tournament began with a run from Karapora Dam to Kids Kingdom School. There were some basic race formats: Run 2km, with about 10 obstacles, water crossing, climbing terrain with the help of rope.
The Hogam Sports Relief Art has three sports branches, called 1-Tisapa (Crossing Sports Barriers), 2- Lightning (Individual Arts-Deformation), 3- The Drama (Dramatic Fighting). One of the special activities of this sport is practice in the nature of the forest, mountains, sea and desert in various climatic conditions for the purpose of sport and healthy recreation.
A large number of students participated in this tournament from different schools and clubs of Pulwama district.
“It was my first experience as such events has not been ever conducted in Pulwama I am pleasantly surprised with my performance especially in having the energy and strength for the obstacles, ascents, descents, and the running,” said Munazah Yasin (gold medallist from Kids Kingdom School).
While speaking with Mr. Parvaiz, the President of Hogam Federation of India, he stated, “Earlier we conducted India’s first Hogam event in Srinagar district. Our future plan is to hold Hogam events in every district of Kashmir as well as in every state of India. I am grateful to all of the parents that permitted their children to participate in this event.”
Mohammad Shafi, Mohammad Irfan Lone, Uzma, Sahiba Nisar, Tabsum, Naveed Mukhtar, Rabia Tariq, Dawood Sofi, Mohammad Shoaib, Ashiq Sultan Dar, Shahid Hilal Malik, Rasik Shah Muskaan were the tournament officials.
On the occasion Director of Kids Kingdom Public School Rohmoo Mr. Abbas ul Aziz was the chief guest while as chairman of school Iftikhar, Principal of school, Basharat, Bilal Ahmad, were the guests of honour, who distributed medals and certificates to the participants.
