Jammu – To ensure smooth conduct of Block Development Council Elections, meeting of Returning Officers/Assistant Returning Officers was convened under the chairmanship of Shabir Ahmad (KAS) District Election Officer, Ramban.
In the meeting Anil Magotra, SP, Ramban, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Dev., Assistant Commissioner (Rev), Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers of Block Gool, Ramban, Banihal and Ramsoo, besides, Tehsildars and BDOs of district Ramban attended the meeting.
In the meeting, the election material i.e Ro handbook, Photo Electoral Rolls, expenditure register and nomination forms etc was also provided to the Returning Officers and Assistant returning Officers.
The DEO, Ramban issued instructions to the ROs and AROs for conduct of Block Development Council Elections according to the Election Commission of India and Chief Electoral Officers guidelines provided in the RO hand book. The security arrangements for smooth conduct of Block Dev. Council elections were also discussed with the SP and Dy. SP Headquarter.
The DEO, Ramban also directed the ROs and AROs to issue the public notice from their headquarters immediately after issuance of the notification on 10-10-2012 with full particulars of their headquarter, name of RO and ARO, time of receiving the nominations and availability of nominations forms. They were further directed to give full publicity to the notification by posting public notice at conspicuous places for information of the aspiring candidates.
The DEO while clarifying that officials/officers of the RDD department will not be involved in the conduct of election process but they will provide logistic supports and accommodation to the ROs and AROs in their respective office buildings. Thereafter, the training programme to the ROs and AROs was organized in the DC office Complex in which ADC, Ramban, ACD, Ramban and ACR, Ramban imparted training to the ROs and AROs.
The DEO further directed the concerned officers that code of conduct has already been enforced and directed the officers to strictly adhere to the code of conduct.
