SRINAGAR- An ‘Annual Sports Day 2022’ event was held at the historic Polo Ground playfield in Srinagar on Saturday. Organised by Delhi Modern Public School, Pampore in collaboration with J&K Sports Council (JKSC).
The occasion was graced by around 1200 students and parents, as well as staff members from the respective school and several authorities from the JKSC.
As the chief guest, Secretary JKSC Nuzhat Gull presided over the occasion and congratulated the event’s participants, including the medallists from the recent 5th Pencak Silat Federation Cup 2021-22.
On the occasion, schoolchildren performed a variety of drills and sports skills that attracted the crowd.
While talking with participants, the Secretary Sports Council sought comments on what could be done to improve training and coaching at the grassroots level. She also promised the institution her continued support in all athletic endeavours.
The Secretary Sports Council was flanked by Neelofar Mantoo, DMPS Administrator, S.N Geelani, Founder Delhi Modern Public School, Principal DMPS, Mohammed Iqbal, Manager Polo Ground Sports Complex Council, and other guests.
The event concluded with a Pencak Silat demonstration and a “say no drugs” oath taken by all attendees.
