SRINAGAR: Hundreds of residents of Mulshulla and adjoing villages in Budgam district underwent free medical checkup during a day long health camp organized by Kashmir Observer Foundation on Tuesday.
Senior phusicians Dr Riyaz Tasleeem of GMC Srinagar and Dr Rauf Hussain of District Hospital Budgam checked more than 200 patients. Medicine worth Rs 50,000 was distributed free among the patients.
Mulshulla a remote village in Budgam district sans a medical facility and the patients have to treck to Budgam, 8 kilometers away for any medical check-up.
Tuesday camp was part of KOF commitment to provide free medical care and medicine to needy patients especially elderly during the winter months. It was the fourth such camp in last 3 months.Earlier camps were held at Sonawari, Nara Nag(Kangan) and Kak Sarai- SMHS.
KOF is also engaged in building shelters for homeless flood victims in at least 11 villages of North and South Kashmir.
