Srinagar: Scores of candidates who have been dropped by Service Selection Recruitment Board for the post of draftsman have alleged nepotism and favouritism in the shortlist issued by the Board in August last year.
The candidates on Monday alleged that Services Selection Recruitment Board has violated its own rules of selection and such candidates were included in the short list that were found ineligible for the post by interview panel that was constituted by the Board for selection of draftsman.
The Board called only 35 candidates for interview against 9 posts of Draftsman civil that were advertised vide notification number 1 of 2013 under item Number 31 when they had to call five candidates for a single post and
accordingly 45 candidates should have been interviewed, said an aspirants Bilal Ahmad Sofi, a left out candidate with two years diploma in Civil Engineering Draftsman. It was surprising for us to know that 20 such candidates were included in the list that were declared ineligible by the interview committee and whose candidature was rejected by them, he said.
The candidates alleged that Board Authorities selected those candidates who didnt fulfil eligibility criteria for the reasons better know to them.
These left out candidtes appealed Governor of the state to intervene into the matter and do justice to them. (CNS)
