Srinagar: Casual labourers of Power Development Department (PDD) Monday staged a protest demonstration in support of their demands, including release of their pending wages.
Hundred of PDD causal laborers assembled in Press Enclave Srinagar under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Casual Laborers Union Power Development Department and raised slogans against the department as well as state administration.
President Muhammad Shafi Bhat told CNS that despite putting their live in risk, PDD Daily wagers are being deprived from their salaries. He said that daily rated workers have not received even a penny from past six month. The protestors threatened that they would intensify agitation if their salaries are not released at the earliest.
