I do not like to send my son anymore to Ration Ghat for receiving ration as per quota already fixed by the CAPD following September floods and would prefer to purchase rice from market on whatever rates, as there are always apprehensions of scuffle between people and the Ghat Munshi. I am against the uncalled for attitude of some ration card holders who even do not hesitate to manhandle the poor Munshi and even thrash him for no fault of him. I personally went to the Ration Ghat to know the facts that irritated people when they were denied the ration. The fact is that the CAPD is solely responsible for this mess or for unpleasant atmosphere at the Ghats where Munshi becomes a sacrificial lamb for faults of CAPD. My ration Depot where from I collect the rice has 1500 registered ration cards while as the rice sent by the CAPD do not meet the requisite number of card holders as CAPD is in the habit of providing ration for 1000 cards instead of 1500 cards that creates confusion at the Ghat and Munshi is beaten, thrashed even abused without any rhyme or reason.
When you make supply for 1000 cards where from the Munshi can arrange ration for rest of 500?. This type of situation is being created by the CAPD despite the fact that the govt has already passed orders to provide ration to each card-holder for six months after the floods free of cost.
I do not understand the logic behind creating uncertainty at the ration Ghats by the CAPD knowingly. If govt has issued such orders why cant the department provide the ration as per the requirement of each ration ghat? The situation is alarming and can turn ugly when there is scuffle between the people and the Ghat Munshi. Why should a Munshi be made a scapegoat by the CAPD when it is not providing the requisite rice quota for its proper distribution?
The CAPD must wake-up now by understanding the hardships of the people after floods pushed them to walls and ensure that rice as per requisite quota is provided to each ration ghat without creating hurdles.
The Director CAPD must look in to the distribution of rice personally to resolve the issue at the earliest. This will surely give sigh of relief to the people.
