Srinagar: Police on Friday afternoon detained National Front chairman, and Hurriyat (JK) leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan in his house and barred him from offering Friday prayers.
In a statement a spokesman of the party said, A large contingent of police came and without giving any reasons cordoned off the residence of Nayeem Ahmad Khan asking him not to come out.
Terming the police act as undemocratic and unacceptable, he said, Such acts are repeatedly proving that India and its local collaborators are treating Kashmiris as their slaves and they can at any time arrest any body without any reason.
The spokesman while paying rich tributes to the Shopian slain militants said, The martyrs are daring and challenging a very strong military power of the world only for the cause of freedom.
The spokesman exhibited solidarity with nears and dears of the martyrs especially their parents and reaffirmed that the ongoing resistance movement will continue to achieve the goal of freedom for which the martyrs laid down their lives.
