Pakharpora: Police Monday arrested a political worker for allegedly attempting rape on a married woman in Budgam district.
Police sources said that accused Parvez Wagay of Kanidajan area of Charar-e-Sharif area was arrested after a female lodged a complaint that the accused forcibly entered into her house and tried to outrage her modesty.
Sources said that the accused is an active worker of a political party and enjoys the patronage of a political leader for whom he actively campaigned during the recently concluded Assembly elections.
In-Charge Chowki officer Pakharpora while confirming the incident told CNS that accused has been arrested and a case vide FIR number 3/2015 under section 376,511,447 has been registered against him. (CNS)
