Srinagar- A day after witnessing a slight increase in daily Coronavirus cases, Jammu and Kashmir reported on Wednesday 24 fresh cases of Covid-19 while no fresh fatality was registered in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, 12 new cases each were reported from the twin divisions of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, taking the number of people infected since the onset of pandemic in the UT to 453347.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported 10 new cases of Coronavirus while two more were detected in Baramulla district of north Kashmir. No cases were detected in the remaining 8 districts of the Valley, including Budgam, Pulwama, Kupwara, Anantnag, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Kulgam and Shopian.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu registered 5 new cases of the virus, Kathua 2 and one case each in Rajouri, Doda, Samba, Poonch and Reasi. The three districts of Udhampur, Kishtwar and Ramban registered no fresh cases of Covid-19.
“Moreover, 32 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 17 from Jammu Division and15 from Kashmir Division,” they said.
Also, the officials said that the death toll due to the pandemic remained unchanged at 4749 in J&K as no fresh fatality was reported during the last 24 hours.
