Srinagar: Police have registered 42 cases against 63 drug peddlers in 2014 and recovered large amount of contrabands from them.
In a statement a police spokesman maintained a constant momentum against the menace of drugs in 2014. 63 drug peddlers were arrested in 42 cases registered against them. In total 13682 contraband tablets and capsules, 823 intoxicant bottles, 21 kg poppy, 12.587 kg charas and 22 grams of brown sugar has been recovered from the arrested peddlers, he said.
Police have requested the public to cooperate with them if they notice any such activity in their areas by informing police instantly. The identity of conscious citizens will be kept secret. General public can inform the Helpline numbers are 2477567, 9596222550 and 9596222551.
