Srinagar- A young woman, who was injured in a grenade blast at Amira Kadal area of Srinagar on Sunday afternoon, succumbed to injuries at SMHS hospital on Monday morning, officials said.
Medical Superintendent SMHS hospital here Dr Kawaljeet Singh said that the 19-year-old woman, Rafiya daughter of Nazir Ahmad Tinda of Dargah near NIT, succumbed to her injuries.
She had suffered multiple injuries in the blast which took place at 4:20 hours on the busy street on Sunday.
An elderly person Muhammad Aslam Makhdoomi (70) from Makhdoom Sahib area of Nowhatta Srinagar had died near the spot while 34 others including a policeman were injured in the blast on the busy Amira Kadal bridge.
The explosion took place while the area was abuzz with a huge rush of shoppers who had thronged the week flea Sunday market. Police on Sunday evening detained several persons for questioning in connection with the blast, a senior police officer said. (With Inputs From GNS)
