SRINAGAR, JANUARY 02: The field executives of Legal Metrology Department (LMD) under the supervision of Assistant Controller, conducted surprise inspection of the market inside the premises of Airport and booked two traders for overcharging food items. The MRP printed on one of the products was Rs. 10 and the same was being sold for Rs. 20. The erring trader was penalized on spot for Rs. 6,000.
Some traders were selling pre-packed commodities which were found without the mandatory declarations. The traders operating in the Airport premises were directed to adhere to Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011.
In addition to this, the department booked two Petrol Pumps one at 90-feet road Soura and the other at Kralpora for indulging in Short-deliveries. A fine of Rs. 15,000 was slapped on the management of these Petrol Pumps.
