Srinagar- The daily Coronavirus cases witnessed a significant decline in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday as 36 more people tested positive for the virus while no fresh fatality was reported in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, 18 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus were reported from the Valley and as many from the Jammu division on Wednesday, taking the number of people infected since the onset of pandemic in J&K to 453088.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar detected the highest 13 new cases of virus, Budgam and Kupwara 2 each and one new case in Baramulla. The six districts of Pulwama, Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Bandipora and Ganderbal registered no new cases of Covid-19.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 11 new cases of infection, Doda 5 and one each in Rajouri and Reasi. No fresh cases were reported from the remaining six districts of the region, including Udhampur, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch and Ramban.
“Moreover, 123 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 87 from Jammu Division and 36 from Kashmir Division,” they said.
Also, the officials said that the death toll due to the pandemic remained unchanged at 4748 in J&K as no fresh fatality was reported in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
The officials further said that no new cases of mucormycosis were reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 51 across J&K.
