Srinagar- Indicating an end to the third Coronavirus wave, Jammu and Kashmir reported on Monday 42 fresh cases of virus, even as no fresh fatality was registered in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, the daily cases of Covid-19 dipped further with Jammu division reporting 22 new cases of infection and Kashmir Valley 20 during the last 24 hours.
In the Valley, six Covid-19 cases each were reported from Srinagar and Baramulla, Budgam 3, Kupwara and Kulgam 2 each and Bandipora 1. The four districts of Ganderbal, Shopian, Anantnag and Pulwama detected no new cases of Coronavirus.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu detected the highest 11 new cases of virus, three each in Doda and Poonch, Udhampur and Kathua 2 each and one new case in Ramban. Rajouri, Samba, Kishtwar and Reasi registered no fresh cases of Covid-19.
“Moreover, 148 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 51from Jammu Division and97 from Kashmir Division,” they said.
Also, the officials said that the death toll due to pandemic remained unchanged at 4748 in J&K—2325 in Jammu and 2423 in Kashmir, as no fatality was reported during the last 24 hours.
The officials further said that no new cases of Mucormycosis were reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 51 across J&K.
