Jammu: A man was injured when he accidentally stepped on a landmine Tuesday near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, an official said.
A civilian identified as Muhammad Khurshid stepped accidentally on a landmine near the LoC in Bhimber Ghali sector of Rajouri district around 4 p.m., defence ministry spokesman Colonel Manish Mehta told IANS.
The landmine exploded, injuring him in the foot. He was immediately taken to a hospital.
Khurshid was visiting some relatives in a nearby village from his native Tarkundi village when the incident occurred, he said.
