Srinagar- The daily Coronavirus cases in Jammu and Kashmir dropped to a 46-day low on Friday as 197 people tested positive for Covid-19 while one more person succumbed to the infection during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, Kashmir Valley reported 79 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus while the remaining 118 were registered from various districts of Jammu division, taking the number of people infected in J&K since the onset of pandemic to 451989.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar detected 30 new cases of virus, Baramulla 20, Budgam 12, Bandipora 6, Kupwara 5, Kulgam 3, Anantnag 2 and Ganderbal 1. The twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama reported no new cases of Covid-19.
In the winter capital, officials said, Doda detected a maximum of 42 fresh cases of Coronavirus, Jammu 41, Ramban 12, Kathua 10, Reasi 5, Poonch 4 and one case each in Udhampur, Rajouri, Samba and Kishtwar.
“Moreover, 577 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 269 from Jammu Division and 308 from Kashmir Division,” they said.
Also, the officials said that one more person died of Covid-19 related complications in Jammu division on Friday, raising the death toll due to the pandemic to 4,746 in J&K—2324 in Jammu and 2422 in Kashmir.
The officials also said that no new cases of Mucormycosis were reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 51 across J&K.
