Srinagar- The daily Coronavirus cases in Jammu and Kashmir dropped to a six week low on Wednesday as 230 more people tested positive for the infection, while no fresh fatality was reported in the Union Territory for the third consecutive day.
According to officials, Kashmir Valley reported 104 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus while the remaining 126 were registered from various districts of Jammu division, taking the number of people infected since the onset of pandemic in J&K to 451560.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 50 new cases of Coronavirus, Kupwara 18, Budgam 14, Baramulla 8, Bandipora 5, three each in Pulwama and Anantnag, Ganderbal 2 and Shopian 1. Kulgam was the only district in the Valley where no new cases of Covid-19 were detected today.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu registered a maximum of 54 fresh cases of virus, Doda 39, Poonch and Ramban 9 each, Udhampur 8, three each in Rajouri and Kathua and Kishtwar 1. The twin districts of Samba and Reasi detected no new cases of Covid-19.
“Moreover, 827 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 356 from Jammu Division and 471 from Kashmir Division,” they said.
Also, the officials said that the death toll in the pandemic remained at 4745 in J&K as no fresh fatality was reported during the last 24 hours.
The officials further added that no new cases of Mucormycosis were reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 51 across J&K.
