Srinagar- The daily Coronavirus cases dipped further in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday as 458 more people tested positive for virus, the lowest tally in over a month, while three others succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, Kashmir Valley reported 206 fresh cases of Covid-19 while the remaining 252 were registered from various districts of Jammu division on Saturday, taking the number of people infected by virus since the outbreak of pandemic in J&K to 450331.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar registered the highest 80 new cases of Coronavirus, Kupwara 45, Budgam 20, Baramulla and Kulgam 13 each, nine each in Pulwama and Anantnag, Ganderbal 8, Bandipora 5 and Shopian 4.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu detected a maximum of 88 fresh cases of virus, Doda 65, Udhampur 26, Ramban 21, Kishtwar 17, Reasi 14, Kathua 7, Poonch 6, Rajouri 5 and Samba 3.
“Moreover, 1624 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 574from Jammu Division and 1050 from Kashmir Division,” they said.
Also, the officials said that three more people, two in Jammu division and one in Kashmir, died of Covid-19 related complications during the last 24 hours, raising the death toll in the pandemic to 4744 in J&K—2322 in Jammu and 2422 in Kashmir.
The officials also added that no new cases of Mucormycosis were reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 51 across J&K.
