Srinagar:Maisuma in city centre Lal Chowk is observed a shutdown against the continuous detention of incarcerated JKLF Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik.
Shops and establishments remained closed while JKLF supporters of the volatile area observed a sit-in and their leaders addressed the gathering.
Arrested before the commencement of assembly elections, Malik was shifted to SKIMS after being re-arrested in Islamabad and is on hunger strike against what JKLF calls police atrocities in Maisuma area.
The JKLF spokesperson said that police has unleashed terror in his Maisuma and adjoining areas. The Front spokesman said that the protest rally at Lal Chowk was led by the JKLF leader Showkat Ahmad Bakshi.
