Srinagar: To provide the essential services to the locals and providing basic amenities at their doorsteps, a medical-cum-veterinary camp was organized by Army under the aegis of Chinar Corps at Gingle village, Uri Tehsil on Saturday.
A defence communiqué said the camp aimed to address the medical requirements of the local populace where the health care has not been adequately addressed due to non availability of medical facilities. Three medical officers from Army including a civilian Medical Officer and Veterinary Officer, alongwith ancillary staff were involved in the camp. Apart from 445 (Male – 285, Female – 55, and children – 105) villagers including children, a total of 380 livestock were also administered medical treatment and advice,” it said.
An awareness campaign was also conducted at the venue where health and mitigation measures on issues like hygiene and sanitation, cold weather amelioration measures, communicable/non communicable diseases, water purification and water borne diseases were discussed and the populace was made aware of the preventive measures, it added.
