Srinagar- The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested a revenue official for demanding and accepting a bribe from a person in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district for providing revenue extracts.
ACB received a complaint from a person alleging that Mohammad Abbas, Patwari Halqa Kewa, Qazigund was demanding a bribe of Rs 3500 for issuing revenue extracts viz Intikhaab for obtaining KCC loan, a Bureau spokesperson said Monday.
“Upon receiving the instant complaint prima facie offence U/S 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 was found made out. Consequently, case FIR No. 02/2022 was registered at Police Station ACB Anantnag,” he said.
The ACB spokesperson further said that the accused Patwari was arrested while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3500/- from the complainant.
“Further investigations of the case is going on,” he added.
