Srinagar- Coronavirus cases continued to show a decline for the fourth consecutive day in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday as 4175 more people tested positive for the virus while five others succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, Kashmir Valley reported 2812 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus while 1363 were registered from various districts of Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic in J&K to 428260.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 892 new cases of Coronavirus, Baramulla 475, Kupwara 436, Kulgam 292, Anantnag 234, Pulwama 153, Bandipora 131,Budgam 127, Ganderbal 44 and Shopian 28.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu registered a maximum of 653 new cases of virus, Doda 186, Ramban 145, Udhampur 104, Kathua 99, Samba 55, Poonch 49, Rajouri 34, Reasi 25 and Kishtwar 13.
“Moreover, 7107 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 1814from Jammu Division and5293 from Kashmir Division,” the officials said.
Also, they said that five more people, three from Jammu and two from Kashmir, died of Covid-19 complications during the last 24 hours, raising the death toll in the pandemic to 4652 in J&K—2271 in Jammu and 2381 in Kashmir Valley.
The officials also said that no new cases of Mucormycosis were reported today, thus the total number of confirmed casesremains51 across J&K.
