Srinagar- Coronavirus cases continue to show a steady decline in Jammu and Kashmir as 4354 people on Friday tested positive for the virus while five more people succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, Kashmir Valley reported 2914 fresh cases of Coronavirus on Friday while 1440 were registered from various districts of Jammu division, taking the number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic in J&K to 424085.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar registered the highest 916 new cases of Coronavirus, Kupwara 618, Anantnag 329, Baramulla 290, Kulgam 262, Budgam 229, Bandipora 109, Pulwama 90, Ganderbal 42 and Shopian 29.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 763 new cases of infection, Udhampur 111, Ramban 106, Samba 104, Doda 103, Poonch 91, Kathua 68, Rajouri 43, Kishtwar 30 and Reasi 21.
“Moreover, 5850 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 1918from Jammu Division and3932 from Kashmir Division,” the officials said.
Also, they said that five more people, three from Jammu division and two from Valley died of Covid-19 related complications, taking the death toll in the pandemic to 4647 in J&K— 2268 in Jammu and 2379 in Kashmir.
The officials also said that no new cases of Mucormycosis were reported Friday, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 51 across J&K.
