Srinagar- Coronavirus cases witnessed a slight decline in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday as 4959 more people tested positive for the virus while seven more succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, Kashmir Valley reported 3565 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus while 1394 were registered in various districts of Jammu division on Thursday, taking the total number of people infected by the virus across J&K to 419731.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 841 new cases of Coronavirus, Baramulla 784, Kupwara 529, Budgam 440, Anantnag 299, Kulgam 295, Pulwama 135, Bandipora 130, Ganderbal 87 and Shopian 25.
In the winter capital, they said, Jammu reported a maximum of 703 new cases of virus, Kishtwar 165, Doda 162, Samba 110, Ramban 99, Rajouri 68, Udhampur 31, Poonch 25, Kathua 23 and Reasi 8.
“Moreover, 6264 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 3371 from Jammu Division and 2893 from Kashmir Division,” the officials said.
Also, the officials said that seven more people, one from Jammu division and 6 from Kashmir Valley succumbed to the deadly infection on Thursday, taking the death toll in the pandemic to 4642 in J&K- 2265 in Jammu and 2377 in the Valley.
The officials further added that no new cases of Mucormycosis were reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 51 across J&K.
