SRINAGAR: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) has condemned the horrific acid assault on a female law student by unidentified men at Nowshera which left her with disfigured face and damaged eye.
This inhuman and dastardly act by assailants has send shivers down our spines and we are in a state of shock said Dr Nisar ul Hassan President DAK in a statement here today.
This ghastly act not only maimed the victim but has socially and psychologically scarred her.
Such incidents were unheard of in our society because of our strong social and moral values which have been eroded over the years in a well planned conspiracy, he said.
Hassan said, the assailants could dare to indulge in such a heinous crime because of no fear of accountability.
DAK demanded exemplary punishment to the assailants and strict regulation to control acid sale and access.
Society should develop a holistic approach to combat and eliminate such acid assaults in future he said adding, that the DAK will provide all sorts of medical, social and psychological assistance to the victim.
