SRINAGAR: A youth group in Jammu and Kashmir while condemning the acid-attack on a college student Thursday called for protests over the incident in state’s summer capital and New Delhi.
Young student of law suffered horrific injuries after having acid thrown on her face outside her college in Jammu and Kashmirs summer capital Srinagar. The 22-year-old girl was outside her law college in Nowshara, Soura when unknown persons sprinkled acid on her face leading to serious injuries.
The Centre for Youth and Development chariman Imtiyaz Chashti along with members visited the acid-attack victim who is being treated for life threatening facial injuries at SKIMS Hospital in Srinagar and said, supreme court has been ordering the government to stop acid attacks but till now neither the acid attack has reduced nor the law’s suggested by the court has came into existence.”
“We all should work together to stop this evil that had occurred in our society.”
While expressing anguish over the heinous act, he expressed sympathies with the victim and her family. He also prayed for speedy recovery of the victim and offered all possible assistance to the family.
