Cant Govt tolerate one Muslim?

This has reference to a news item Facing inquiry, IGNOU VC goes on leaveappearing in a local daily on 29th November, 2014.

It is most unfortunate that a distinguished son of the soil who has reached at such a high position by his utmost sincerity and honesty is being subjected to humiliation through inquiry. All of us know what he has done for the country in general and J&K state in particular. A visit to IGNOU website is enough to understand what he has done. He was the person who was conferred Commonwealth of Learning Award for Panchayat Project. He was also conferred Professional Excellence Award by the Mewat Society. He also got conferred Social Responsibility Award for his selfless Service to the Society and Mankind by Bharat Nirman. He also received the Best Teaching PracticesAward conferred on IGNOU at the India Today Aspire Education Summit 2012.

For the State of Jammu & Kashmir, he was responsible for establishing Regional Centre at Srinagar. This year alone I understand that more than 20, 000 from Kashmir and more than 22,000 from Jammu got enrolled with IGNOU. What else we want from son of our soil.

What is that which is being alleged. Community College closure , where certificates were being distributed on the basis of E-mails received. Is it appointment of faculties. When I ascertained from some of IGNOU collegues I was told that they have never seen such a transparent process of selection. Let our media ascertain how many kashmeris or his close or distant relatives were appointed at IGNOU during his tenure. I think basic problem for the Govt, is that he is a Muslim and that too a Kashmeri Muslim. Cant Govt tolerate one Muslim? There is no such action taken for VC Delhi University or Chairman, UGC against whom there are genuine corruption charges.

Is it not shame for us that when such an eminent person is subjected to humiliation by the BJP/ RSS govt. at the centre, we do not stand for him. Let us introspect and rise above petty consideration and make world realize that you cannot act the way you are doing. Media has a special role to play.
