Srinagar- Three more people succumbed to coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday while 132 fresh cases of infection were reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, 105 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in Kashmir Valley and the remaining 27 from various districts of Jammu Division, taking the number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 340293.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar registered the highest 40 new cases of virus, Baramulla 34, Bandipora 8, Pulwama 7, Kupwara and Ganderbal 5 each, Budgam 4 and Anantnag 2. The twin districts of Kulgam and Shopian reported no new cases of Covid-19.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 23 new cases of infection, Poonch 2 and one new case each in Doda and Kishtwar. No cases were detected in the remaining six districts of Udhampur, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Ramban and Reasi.
“Moreover, 118 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 21 from Jammu Division and 97 from Kashmir,” the officials said.
Also, they said that three more people died of Covid-19 related complications in Kashmir Valley, raising the death toll to in J&K—2196 in Jammu and 2322 in Kashmir.
“No new case of Mucormycosis has been reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 50 across J&K,” they added.
