Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir reported on Saturday 151 fresh cases of novel coronavirus while one more person succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, 109 new cases of Covid-19 were detected in the Valley and the remaining 42 from various districts of the Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 333722.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 55 new cases of coronavirus, Baramulla 17, Ganderbal 12, Budgam 9, Kupwara 7, Bandipora 6, Pulwama 2 and Anantnag 1. The twin districts of Kulgam and Shopian in south Kashmir registered no new cases of Covid-19.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 17 new cases of virus; Reasi 15, Ramban 4, Rajouri and Doda 2 each and one new case each in Udhampur and Kishtwar. No cases were detected in the three districts of Kathua, Samba and Poonch.
“Moreover, 140 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 45 from Jammu Division and 95 from Kashmir,” the officials said.
Also, the officials said that one more person died ofCovid-19 related complications in Jammu division thus taking the death toll in the pandemic to 4511 in J&K—2194 in Jammu and 4510 in Kashmir.
The officials also said that no new confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) were reported Saturday. So far 50 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials added.
