JAMMU- J&K Bank football team on Friday lifted the 15th Christmas Gold Cup by defeating Shaheen FC 3-0 in the finals played at GGM Science College Ground here.
Bank’s talismanic striker Akif Reshi scored 2 goals to give his team the much-deserved victory.
Akif opened the score in the 30th minute, before adding another in the 60th minute of the match. Adnan Ayub scored J&K Bank’s 3rd goal in the 87th minute. For his brilliant display, Akif was awarded the player of the match.
Advisor to LG, Farooq Khan was the chief guest on the occasion, while other guests included BJP State vice president, Yudhvir Sethi, J&K Bank Zonal Head Shareesh Sharma, among others.
Advisor congratulated the winning team and appreciated the runner up team as well for their outstanding performance. He also distributed trophies among the winning and runner up teams.
The Christmas Gold Cup was organised by All J&K Sports & Cultural Welfare Association. The tournament was held under the aegis of JKFA and JKSC, and saw the participation of 18 teams.
Pertinently, this J&K Bank football team has won all major local tournaments played in the year 2021.
